Consumers discover Looks, see how they look on different body types, and buy everything in one checkout. Retailers fulfill orders and pay commission only on sales.

Currently, yes. We’re focused on Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to build the best possible experience with local boutiques and creators. We plan to expand to other Canadian cities in the future.

Yes. All payments are processed through Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never store your full credit card number on our servers.

How does checkout work with multiple retailers?

You can add items from different boutiques to one cart and check out once. We handle splitting the order and routing it to each retailer. You may receive multiple packages if items come from different stores.

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery. Each retailer sets their own return policy, which is displayed on the product page. We provide prepaid return labels for easy returns.

How does body-type matching work?

Our creators share their body type information. When browsing, you can filter Looks by body shape, size range, and height. This way, you see outfits on someone with a similar body to yours.

Shipping is free on orders over $150. Below that, shipping costs are calculated per retailer and displayed at checkout.

Can I buy individual items instead of complete Looks?

Yes! While our Looks are curated as complete outfits, you can add individual items to your cart if you prefer.

What is the commission rate?

Creators earn 12–15% commission on every sale generated from their Looks. This is significantly higher than traditional affiliate platforms like LTK (3–5%).

Payouts are processed every 14–21 days via Stripe Connect direct deposit. The minimum payout threshold is $25. Commission is confirmed after the return window closes.

Retailers loan you products to photograph and style. You return them within 7 days. Your credit card is only charged if items aren’t returned. Most loans cost you nothing — just your creative time.

We look for creators with 5,000+ followers, 3%+ engagement rate, based in the GTA, with a focus on fashion, lifestyle, or beauty content. Don’t meet every requirement? Apply anyway — we review every application.

Applications are typically reviewed within 48 hours. You’ll receive an email notification with the decision and next steps.

What does it cost?

There’s zero upfront cost. You only pay commission on actual sales — 10% for the first 6 months (introductory rate), then 15% standard. Volume discounts available for high-performing stores.

One-click install from our app. Products sync in under 60 seconds. Inventory updates in real-time. Orders appear in your existing Shopify dashboard with a “ByTheLook” tag.

Do I control which products are featured?

Yes. You choose exactly which products to list on ByTheLook. You can also approve or reject any Look featuring your products before it goes live.

What if I don’t use Shopify?

We offer a Manual Seller Portal where you can upload products via CSV or add them individually. Our team assists with your first upload. Setup takes about 35 minutes.

What is the commission structure?

Intro rate: 10% for first 6 months. Standard: 15%. Volume tier 1: 13% at $5K+/month. Volume tier 2: 11% at $10K+/month. Admin can set custom rates for qualifying retailers.

How do product loans work?

Creators request to borrow products. You review their profile and approve or decline. If approved, ship the items (typically ~$10 within GTA). Products are returned within 7 days in sellable condition. If not returned, the creator’s stored card is charged.
